Jerry - Driving MVP
The Drivers: Scott & Jerry
Jerry and I met in the early 1990’s. Each of us was self-employed and we were both vendors and customers of each other. Jerry sold his business in 2007, but we stayed in touch. The Power Trip was the first time we had done anything socially.
Why Jerry?
The reason I asked Jerry to join me in this adventure is that I could not think of any person I would rather spend 24 continuous hours with in a car. He is a positive, happy person and we share a lot of common interests. I didn’t realize that not only is he a great person, but he is a car person and a very good driver. The biggest bonus is that he slept only 10 minutes (in 24 hours) and never really got tired. I am convinced we succeeded because of Jerry.
The Power Trip
This road trip was intentional, preplanned, and calculated. I would be embarrassed to add up the many hours spent in planning and researching this trip. I studied the “Welcome To . . . . “ signs and many other landmarks on Google Earth. When we were driving, it seemed as though I had been to these places already. All we had to do was execute the plan. There were no surprises.
Side Note
At the time of this May 2019 road trip, we were both (soon to be) first time grandfathers. Jerry was first with a granddaughter in June. My granddaughter arrived in September and then a grandson in December.
